Bible proof!4 February 2023I came across this today, something I'd read a lifetime ago, when as a young teenager I attended the local Bible Class. Edgware (NW London) was (probably still is) a very evangelical Anglican (sorry! that word was much too Catholic!) Church of England parish, and it took years to get over the narrow-mindedness of it all. Our church, the first daughter church of the parish church, had been formally opened by Dame Violet Wills of the tobacco family, and all dancing was banned, even square dancing. Being a good Christian was much more important than being happy. Anyway, we were brought up on the King James Version, or the Authorised Version as it was more usually called. This was in the 1940s, somewhat before the New English Bible (1961) and all the others. But the AV was the only Bible we ever used. And it was never mentioned to us that the Bible was written in foreign languages about 2,000 years ago. Enjoy it, and don't be afraid to laugh out loud.
